2011 Census - further tables released

We are pleased to announce the release of further statistics from the 2011 Census on 26 September 2013. This release consists of:

  • Local characteristics on migration
  • Detailed characteristics for communal establishments

A lists of tables in this release can be found on the appropriate product pages:

The Local Characteristics series cross tabulates two or more topics. Tables in the local characteristics family have a minimum population threshold (size) of 100 persons and 40 households. This means that they can be produced for output areas (OAs) and higher geographies. They provide the most detailed results possible for OAs.

The Detailed Characteristics family of tables are available for wards, middle layer super output areas (MSOA) and higher geographies. Similar to Local Characteristics tables, these contain two or more census variables, such as age and sex, but provide considerably more detail than their local equivalents, as the larger population means the risk of disclosure of personal information is lower.
