BRES Access changes from Mon 2nd October 2017

On Monday 2nd October 2017, new 2016 Business Register and Employment Survey (BRES) estimates will be made available on Nomis.

In-line with previous news updates, access to unrounded BRES estimates will be removed at that time and rounded safeguarded estimates will become the most granular level of data available. Safeguarded access will be available to both the current BRES series and all the historical annual employment datasets.

Open access estimates will remain available on an unrestricted basis including new open access versions of the historical datasets. Safeguarded estimates will give more accuracy than open access estimates, being rounded to a lower base, but will only be available to registered users who have applied for and been granted safeguarded access by the BRES team.

After completing the form, the BRES team will check your application within 3-5 working days. If approved, you will receive an email to confirm you have access to the safeguarded estimates.

Please note that although your new 2016 application may be approved before Monday 2nd October 2017, you will not have access to the 2016 estimates until this date.
